U.N. Scientist warns of Catastrophic Climate Change>/a>
Beacuse some think this stuff is made-up

Pentagon goes crazy...
over the next century caused by man-made emissions of greenhouse gases, scientists say.
Catastrophic Climate Change

Why is the thermohaline circulation so important for the world’s climate? Because the oceans absorb, store, and redistribute vast amounts of the Sun’s heat. Without the ocean's circulation around the globe, points at the same latitude around the world would have approximately the same average temperatures. But because of the thermohaline circulation, the French Mediterranean region is temperate, even though it lies at about the same latitude as New England. Norway, which is located at about the same latitude as Manitoba, Canada, has an average yearly temperature of about 20 degrees warmer than that of Manitoba."

Well I think that "11°F (5.8°C) in the next hundred years." is a lot more reasonable than armageddon by 2020. I wonder really if temperatures only went up 1 degree in the 20th century why now, when we are slowly phasing out this kind of pollution, it would be worse.

I dunno if I agree, but I am more comfortable with scientists that admit things will change in a gradual, observable way than unnamed sources who say we'll all be urban cavemen in a couple of decades.

If and when the Great Conveyor Belt shutsdown,( the Gulf stream ) it could spell the End of life as we now know it, within 1-3 years. Thats how fast she packs it in when she does.
We are helping to speed up this process---like it or not...without drastic action ( or with drastic action ) we can prolong the inevitable or go rushing in...Obviously America has chosen to go rushing-in.
It's pretty basic: we melt the glaciers by heating up the planet/ screw up the delicate balance of salt to fresh water. Fresh water shuts down the " stream" or underwater river_and voila...between 1-3 years we'll be chillin.
